Terms of Service
Effective date: 10 October 2026
These terms govern the use of the law-firm management service (the “Service”) provided through the getesas.com web app and the Esas mobile app. The law firm subscribing to the Service (the “Firm”) and every user it creates an account for are bound by these terms.
The person who sets up the Firm on Esas confirms that they are authorised to accept these terms on the Firm’s behalf.
1. Who the Service is for
The Service is provided only to lawyers registered with a bar in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and to the law firms they establish. When a Firm is set up we ask for the bar registration number, the bar association and a TRNC phone number, and check them against the Bar Association records.
Esas may decline to approve a Firm whose details cannot be verified or that does not meet this condition, and may suspend an approved Firm’s access.
2. Roles and the lawyer-seat rule
Each Firm member has one of three roles:
- Administrator and Lawyer: open case files, keep client records and access billing and financial data. Each uses one lawyer seat.
- Staff: for secretaries, trainee lawyers and administrative staff who run the office’s day-to-day work.
Every person practising law at the Firm who is registered with a bar and is not a trainee uses a lawyer seat. The Staff role may not be used to avoid paying for a lawyer. If such use is found, Esas may ask the Firm to correct the role; if it is not corrected, the missing seats may be invoiced to the Firm or the user’s access may be restricted.
The number of free staff members is limited and set by the plan agreed with the Firm.
Each account belongs to one person and may not be shared. Several people using the same account is a breach of the lawyer-seat rule. An account can be signed in on up to three devices at once; signing in on a new device ends the session on the device used least recently. If sharing is found, Esas may invoice the Firm for as many seats as there are lawyers using the account.
3. Fees and payment
- A new Firm may be given a trial period after approval.
- Fees depend on the plan and the number of lawyer seats, are agreed with the Firm in writing, invoiced, and paid by bank transfer or another agreed method.
- No purchases, subscriptions or payments are made inside the apps.
- When the paid period ends, access to the Service closes. Data is not deleted immediately for that reason; deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.
4. The Firm’s responsibilities
- The Firm is responsible for the content it enters (client details, case files, documents) and for processing it in line with the law and professional rules. The Firm is the data controller for that content.
- The Firm opens accounts only for its own people, assigns roles correctly and removes access for those who leave.
- Users keep their passwords confidential and notify Esas without delay of any unauthorised use.
5. Nature of the Service
Esas is practice-management software and does not give legal advice. Deadline, hearing and reminder calculations are aids: confirming statutory periods and dates remains the lawyer’s responsibility.
We take reasonable care to keep the Service available and error-free; short interruptions may occur during maintenance and updates.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Esas’s total liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees the Firm paid Esas in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Esas is not liable for lost profits or indirect loss. Liability for intent and gross negligence is not excluded.
7. Termination
The Firm may end its subscription at any time. Esas may suspend the Firm’s access or terminate the agreement for a serious breach of these terms. Refunds for a paid period follow the agreement made with the Firm.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the TRNC. The courts of Nicosia (Lefkoşa) have jurisdiction over disputes.
9. Changes
When the terms are updated, the effective date on this page changes. Significant changes are also notified to the Firm’s administrator.
